Can't switch to AUX

Hi,

We're trying to play movies from our iphone to the overhead screen. We used to be able to do it by hooking the iphone into the composite inputs, powering up the screen with the remote and then pushing AUX on the remote.

Now, we can't get the remote to power on the screen (or change to AUX). The inputs work, because the movies play on the NAV screen when in park. And the rear screen works, because it plays DVDs. We tried a new remote at a dealer, but it didn't work either.

Thoughts? Is there a way to power on the screen and switch the input to AUX without using the remote?

Thanks

Never heard of anyone trying to play movies from their iPhone through the composite inputs; come to think of it; I've never used our composite inputs. Then again; I wouldn't use my iPhone for movies. Anyway; the only way I know to power the rear screen is to put in a DVD

Check the IR module in the drop down screen housing. Mine stopped working and had to be replaced. The module sends out the IR signal to the headphones and receives the IR signal from the remote. Both functions stopped working for me.

After it was replaced, I was able to switch to aux and play videos from an iPod touch via the composite inputs.

I wish there was another way to switch to aux input but I haven't found it.

Dear eaa795,

I have read your post about your rear DVD screen from your Iphone. You stated that you had the vehicle to the dealership and they had you try a new remote to see if that was the problem to your situation. Did the dealership offer to look into your situation further?

Sincerely,
Michelle, GMC Customer Service

It's been over a week and still no call from the dealer saying the new remote arrived. We're pretty frustrated because we did a 7 hour drive with our 4 and 6 year olds yesterday.
