Just wondering what everyone thinks about the Lane Departure. I've been using it up until today when I turned off a highway into a roadway with numerous lines. My Acadia pulled hard back to the left when I was going right. Had there been someone coming along side, there may have been a fender bender. Just would like some opinions.

It seems to recognize between deliberate and drifting across the line and if you use the turn signals it doesn't engage or warn you. I have noticed that the lane lines need to be clearly visible, we have a road where they resurfaced it with a gravel dust like substance followed by a liquid sealer and the line are faded and the Lane Assist doesn't recognize them.

I like the new LDW/LKA system far better than in my '14 Denali. I had to turn it off in my '14, as it was driving me crazy. The new system is far less skittish on its warnings, and the steering bump has never been extreme in my experience. The faster you are going, the more pronounced the steering bump will be, but it won't repeat if you steer through it, and it won't do anything at all, if you put your directional light on first. I've been surprised by it a few times at higher speeds, but can't honestly say it was anything that could cause an accident.

I have never had the LDW/LKA system pull very hard either way, it is more of a slight nude in the right direction to get you back in line. If you give were trying to go right and it tried to pull you back to the left typically giving more input on the wheel to the right will stop the system and let you continue on your path. Either that or use the turn signal before switching lanes.

Most of the time when the LDW/LKA kicked in on ours it was a like DeanaliGuy said just slight nudge but one when the when the wife drifted to the right it made a sharp correction the left. Don't know what was different that time from the others.
